Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

We've reached the end of another long year, 2012 has been a significant year for Dover Ferry Info, with it's foundation in April I regret that the site has not quite reached the standard I has envisaged, however we still have 2013. I'm also pleased to announce that the Port of Ramsgate and Ostend will now be covered in the site.

For Dover it's been a busy year, the loss of SeaFrance, the arrival of the Spirit of Britain, LD Lines and DFDS Seaways' new route and joint venture. We got Norman Spirit back to Dover and also Deal Seaways came for a short charter. European Seaway was away for a few months on windfarm charter. Eurotunnel acquired SeaFrance and the new company MyFerryLink began in August with the Berlioz and Rodin. The Berlioz and Pride of Burgundy collided in Calais in October causing some damage to their lifeboats and bridge. The Moliere returned as Dieppe Seaways for DFDS and Pride of Calais bowed out, to be laid up in Tilbury while Pride of Dover was renamed Pride and towed off and is expected to arrive at Tuzla, Turkey on Christmas Day however her future remains uncertain despite numerous rumours of future sale to other local operators. Her sister, Pride of Calais, has been renamed Ostend Spirit and will be serving Ramsgate/Ostend route form mid January.

2012 proved to be an eventful year, but I'm sure 2013 will be just as exciting. Merry Chirstams and Happy New Year!
